This Date in SCCC History (October 3, 1960) – SCCC officially opens!

In its first year of operation, the College offered programs in Liberal Arts, Business Administration and Secretarial Science, and occupied temporary facilities at Sachem Junior-Senior High School as well as part-time facilities at Riverhead High School in Riverhead.  Full-time enrollment was 171 students and a part-time enrollment was 335 students.
